  Clarence River @ Lawrence

This is scenic drive 22, not a long drive, only about 1 hour at the most one way.
Of course we saw lots of cane fields around Maclean as sugar cane growing is one of the major local industries.
On leaving Maclean, we crossed the McFarlane Bridge that took us onto Woodford Island, then followed the Lawrence Road to the Lawrence Ferry. I love going by ferry across a river, although this is only a short ride and FREE crossing. At Lawrence there isn't a lot, but we did stop at a nice riverside park for toilets.
We now follow the mighty big Clarence River, and instead of sugar cane, it is now farmland - beautiful viewing! Arriving in Grafton, you can explore the city or head back to Maclean the same way or on the Pacific highway.
