Parque la Bateria is a lovely park, 74.000 sq.m. with so many fountains and statues, a lovely lake where you can rent a boat, a tower "Torre Mirador" where you can walk up to the top (15 m) and have the best view of La Carihuela. There is also a childrens´ playground at the park where toddlers can leave their pacifier on a tree and the tree was filled with pacifiers :D

An absolutely lovely park, reminding me of royal parks with so many beautiful benches and statues. In the 1940´s there was a military base here on this hill and now the park is a tribute to WW2 Spanish soldiers and there are many canons by "Torre Mirador".

This park is "new" as it was renovated in 2007 and 40 tree species were planted there. As it is so new it still looks a little bare, so to speak, compared to the tall trees in other parks.

It is difficult getting there on foot, I did that and it is difficult to give directions there. But the rail is just by the park and the train stops right next to the park. There is no entrance from below from La Carihuela and you have to enter the park from above by the train stop.

Directions: Take the train from the center of Torremolinos and get off at Montemar, which is the next stop. That is the easiest way.
