"Bring Bug Spray" Wells Gray Provincial Park Packing List Tip by RedbeardMathPirate

  30 Species of Mosquitoes!
by RedbeardMathPirate

Miscellaneous: I camped in Wells-Gray in July and was nearly eaten by bugs. There's mosquitoes and flies and bees and all sorts of other winged nasties that want to bite you, sting you, or, in some cases, just fly straight into you. During the heat of the afternoon, Pyramid Campground was overrun by insects. At the Green Mountain Viewing Tower, there was a constant pinging sound, caused by large bugs bouncing off the metal roof.
At Helmcken Falls, there's even a sign telling visitors that 30 different mosquito species can be found in the park!
