"GO Transit" Toronto Transportation Tip by kehale

Toronto Transportation: 337 reviews and 346 photos

GO Transit is by far the most convienent way to get around the Greater Toronto Area without a car! GO Transit is Canada's first and Ontario's only interregional public transity system comprised of a fleet of trains and buses. Departing from Toronto, Union Station is the main hub to catch trains and buses to cities outside of Toronto (including a new train that runs to Niagara Falls on weekends and holidays between June and October).
Just be aware that if you wish to ride the GO you have to purchase your tickets in advance - you cannot purchase tickets ON the train!! At Union station the ticket booths are on the lower level where the waiting areas for the trains are (also the enterance level from the TTC station located at Union).
GO Transit is an extremely useful way to travel outside of Toronto's downtown core without having to rent a car! If there is a city located in the Greater Toronto Area check out their website to find a schedule and times. (Please Note GO only services the following communities outside of Toronto: Mississauga, Hamilton, Durham Region, Halton Region, Peel Region and York Region - for more information on these communities check out the GO Transit website)
