Monday, September 13, 2009, my long-time friend, Mickey [Michelle], and I left Libertyville, Illinois, for Michigan.

The photo is of Mickey beside her car; she was braving the difficult part of our journey as our driver.

We experienced about a thirty minute delay going through Chicago, and we were relieved to escape the congestion. I took over the driving and had the easy job of the expressway. Mickey brought her GPS [ which she calls "Mabel"], and we had no trouble making it to South Haven, Michigan and to our Bed and Breakfast.

We definitely needed the car to drive from South Haven to Saugatuck and Douglas, Michigan.

We were smarter on the way home; we waited until we knew that our arrival time to Chicago would be after the worst of the traffic.
