Fondest memory: Going down, I tried out a foot sliding method I had seen some teenagers using the day before and it was easy, using the gloves to lightly grasp the chain in a slight braking motion. I was back at the glove pile in no time and chucked my now good friends in the heap as some more early risers approached their destinies. So, you could forgive us for sitting at Curry Village and enjoying our pizza and beer a bit more robustly than some of our neighbors. Sure, one or two of them might have climbed Half Dome that day, but I was pretty sure that none of them had done it two days in a row.
