"MUNI Passport" Travel Pass Tip by Dabs

MUNI passports increased on 1/1/10 to $13 for 1 day, $20 for 3 days and $26 for 7 days

On our 1st day in San Francisco we walked most everywhere we needed to go but towards the late afternoon, we needed to go a couple of places quickly so we bought a 3 day MUNI passport for $18 to help us get around. Buses, the F line and cable cars are all included on the MUNI pass, BART is not. We bought our pass at the booth near the start of the Powell Hyde cable car line, they only took cash, other locations do take credit cards. There's also a booth at the airport SFO near the baggage claim that is open from 8am-8pm, you can buy the pass ahead of time as it is validated once you take your 1st ride.

You can also get a 1 day pass for $11 or a 7 day pass for $24 which is what we should have gotten even though we were only there for 5 days, it would have saved us a couple of dollars and the hassle of digging up bus fare.

Cable car rides are $5 with no transfers, if you take a couple of rides you have almost gotten your money's worth out of the 1 day pass.
