"Plaza de Puerta Cerrada" Madrid Things to Do Tip by keeweechic

Madrid Things to Do: 2,060 reviews and 3,600 photos

Plaza de Puerta Cerrada is known as the Square of the Closed Door apparently because its resides on a spot of a door in the wall that always closed into the old city and the old name it seems has stuck. The square is dominated by a 19th century stone cross which is a reminder to public executions which happened just outside the city walls.

Address: Junction of Calle de Segovia and Cava Baja, Madri
