This new Osteria has become a favorite of the locals in this area of the Veneto. The food is prepared well, presented with a flair, and the choices are varied. For example you will find at least 5 different types of meat, beef, wild pig, etc, and also different types of pasta which are all made in house.
They begin you off with a complimentary glass of prosecco (made for the osteria with their name) and a small appetizer (our was squid), then you can make choices from 4 pages of listed foods.
The dining area in the summer is one floor above the entrance and has a great view of the hills behind Asolo. The street is quiet as this village of Monfumo (close to Asolo) is small. I would recommend this place for nightime dining as I think it would be exceptionally romantic with the few lights of the houses below and in the hills.
Monfuo is in the hills behind Asolo and is one hour driving from Padova.
We did not have to have reservations.

Favorite Dish: I chose the rabbit and it was baked in a sealed glass jar with vegetables--very tasty.
I also got to taste the donkey, which was most excellent, and I would think about ordering this next time.
You see this is not your usual Osteria menu, they are making an effort to present "local" food.
I also had sliced wild mushroom, a large mushroom taken from the hills and was almost melt in your mouth good.
The prosecco that we had at the beginning was excellent and so we continued with a bottle of their 'own' prosecco.
This ristoranti deserves a second and third visit.

Address: Via chiesa 14, 31010 Monfumo (TV)
Comparison: more expensive than average
Directions: Find the road past Asolo to Pagnano and then continue going for another 5 minutes to Monfumo. The Osteria is across from City Hall in Monfumo. Parking is free and across the street from the Osteria.
