"Return To the Courtyard (5)" La Cité - Medieval City Tip by hquittner
La Cité - Medieval City, Carcassonne: 47 reviews and 104 photos
Our tour group reassembled in the large courtyard beneath an old elm tree like one under which "Assemblies of the Courts", chivalric poetry sessions, were held by Adelaide, daughter of the Count of Toulouse. Frm here can be seen the inner aspect of the East gate and in the SE corner the Tower of St.-Paul and the inner aspect of the hoardings around to the west side. A wing of the castle segments off an inner courtyard at the south. Initially, we started from here to visit the Lapidary Museum and now we headed for the defensive parts of the castle and some of the ramparts.
