Favorite thing: History
The history of the Puy du Fou park started in 1977 from an initiative, when Philippe de Villiers (now a politician) decided to create an original show, based on the Vendée region history (this region had a strong conflict against the Republic during the revolution).

The original show is based on his scenario, spanning from the fourteenth century until World War II through the story of a family.

The Grand Park of the Puy du Fou was opened near the Cinéscénie in 1989

The park is managed by an association (more than 3000 members now). The first year (1978) was difficult but it changed quickly, and with the sucess, dedicated micro-industries around this know-how (actors, prop-makers , trainers for the featured horse riding and sword fighting, ...) were growing.

Le Puy du Fou is a private initiative, that has received no funding since its creation.

Fondest memory: I thought 1 day should be enough ...and I was really wrong.

The thousands of actors/actresses, hundreds of horses, the amazing special effects: cinescenie is a must, but with emotions
