Cape Town is most probably South Africa’s most beautiful city and also the most popular city for tourists. It is a MUST VISIT.
Cape Town developed around 1652 when the Dutch settled in the area. The Cape was on the route to the East, which made Cape Town a halfway-stop..
This beautiful city has the beautiful Table Mountain as backdrop, which in itself is a major tourist attraction and is part of a National Park.
I have been to Cape Town since childhood and still visit the city as many times as possible (at least once a year).
Cape Town is a cosmopolitan and vibrant city with a lot to offer to tourists.
It is also a city where very rich and very poor people stay. When driving to Cape Town from the Airport, you cannot miss the huge ‘townships’ and squatter camps along the road. When in Cape Town, driving through the leafy Southern Suburbs, this class difference becomes very apparent.
Cape Town can be visited all year, although winter is the rainy season. During summer, Cape Town can be very dry and hot. I would say that Spring, early Summer and Autumn would be the best times to visit.
