In summer the hotel rates in Dubai (not mentioning the economic crisis in 2009) are much lower. I booked a family suite for a two-night stay at the Arabian Courtyard Hotel and Spa. It is 60 m2 in size that consists of a a kingsize bed, a separate lounge with sofa bed, dining table, a microwave, tea maker, a working table and an Arabic sofa, a bath tub and two big TV sets. I heard many Arab families stay in this hotel. The staff were very nice and friendly. At breakfast, they come over to you and make you feel good as they take away your plates and ask if you wish to have some more coffee. The amenities are okay - with sewing kit, cotton buds, slippers and bathrobes along with other usual things found in 3-star hotels. The mini bar is alright - unlike in other hotels where it does not have enough things inside. A small part of the room has a high ceiling and the furniture gives you a feeling of being entertained by an Arab host.

Unique Qualities: The best buffet breakfast I've ever had in Dubai. Really nice! The Chef is there the entire time to make sure that there's enough food for everybody.

The spa, yes the spa, girls - try it.

The location is superb. Cross the street and it's the Dubai Museum. Next to the hotel are money exchange office, shops, shops, and shops. including one that is open for 24 hours.

The staff are friendly and the hotel is really clean. I'll come back here.

Address: Al Fahidi Street, P O Box 46500, Dubai, United Arab Emirates
Price Comparison: more expensive than average
Directions: Its name is well-known but if the driver is new in Dubai. Just say that it is opposite the Dubai Museum. Basta!
