Backpackers: "Dougie's (Port Douglas)" Australia Hotel Tip by SirRichard
Australia Hotels: 236 reviews and 261 photos
I stayed 4 nights in this "tropical" backpackers resort, a great basecamp for daytrips to the Daintree and Cape Trib and the Great Barrier.
Dougies has a lively (sometimes too lively) bar at nights, a lovey garden with hammocks and a swimming pool, and a camping area.
I stayed at a dormitory of 6 (26$ the night) and slept really well, no noises (in spite of the night partys). The staff was really helpful and helped me plan my trips around. The toilets & showers were nice & clean and I was really satisfied of staying there.
Unique Qualities: The only contra is the location, a bit too far from the centre (about 15 minutes walking).
Price Comparison: least expensive
