In the centre of the square floor is a marble fountain with 12 sides. You enter the room through double arches supported by columns to see walls with were richly decorated with intricate designs which was restored during the 16th century.

The hall?s name apparently derived from a 16th century tail which had quite a macabre ending. It is said that the a North African family called Abencerrajes were invited to a magnificent dinner and after that meal they were all slain in this hall.
