The 1970s skyscraper next to Gewandhaus was built for the university which used it until 1998. Its shape is supposed to look like a book being opened. However, the common Leipziger has found a more convincing analogy and nicknamed the building Weisheitszahn (?Wisdom Tooth?).

Leipzig?s tallest building has been restored as offices by a private investor. The platform at the top offers, weather permitting, a grand view over the whole city. No worries, there is a lift up there.
