"Some one told me John Brown's..." Nebraska Things to Do Tip by brdwtchr

Nebraska Things to Do: 70 reviews and 166 photos

Some one told me John Brown's Cave used to be a tourist trap. It is not one now. It is a point of historical interest and worth seeing. The 'cave' is actually a series of cellars and tunnels under the Mayhew cabin where run-away slaves were hidden. It was a stop on the underground railroad and you can go down into the tunnel and see for your self what it was like.
Other than the Mayhew Cabin there are a number of historical buildings all in one location and thousands of artifacts.

Address: 1900 4th Corso in Nebraska City. Phone: 873-3115.
othercontact: My admission was $5 for one adul
