The monument as depicted in our photograph on the right is the Monument to Gregory XIII. It was sculptured by Camillo Rusconi in the early 18th century. It represents the pope giving his blessing. On both sides of the monument lie minor statues of religion with the sculpture of a dragon at its base.

There are many such wonderful and lovely monuments at St. Peter's Basilica. Take your time to examine and explore everyone of them when you are at St. Peter's Basilica in the city of Vatican. They are really beautiful to look at and wonderful to take souvenir snapshots!
