"See Berlin by Bicycle" Biking Tip by trvlrtom

Biking, Berlin: 12 reviews and 22 photos

Berlin is an easy city to explore by bicycle. Since the city is so spread out, it is difficult to see a lot of it on foot, but you can easily see most of the major sites in the center, through Tiergarten etc. on a bike. The area is relatively flat.
There are several placed to rent bicycles - or join a bike tour if you want. You will see rentals advertised in Alexanderplatz and other areas. Many bike shops also rent. The usual rate is currently 10 euros for the day. I recommend Rad der Stadt in Prenzlaur Berg neighborhood: www.radderstadt.de. (address listed below) They have great service, good bikes and are less expensive than most.

Around Berlin you will also see many of the DB bikes that are for rent. You need a mobile phone to rent these, which are charged by how long you use them. It is easy an convenient, and you just pick a bike up when you see it and drop it off when you are done wherever you are. The bike in the photo is one of these DB bikes.
