The uber-twiddly pink and white Baroque facade of this church hides a church which in fact dates from the 11th century. It is built where St Kilian (an Irish missionary), St Kolonat and St Totnan were buried.....they were murdered in Wurzburg in 689.

The huge altarpiece is worth a look.....

Address: Schonbornstrasse, next to Dom St Kilian

Ah... in the meantime I must have developed an eye for the masters. When I look at your interior photo now I immediately thought .. Wessobrunn, and indeed two of the masters did that interior!

Dreadful photo. :-( I'm much better now!

Oh dear, I think... Southern Bavaria and the churches are not really the thing for you!

I'm afraid you're right, Ingrid. It's just not my thing...I prefer gloom, mysterious symbols and gargoyles. :-)
