Across Krakow you will see old people, mostly ladies, selling flowers. Please spare a thought for these nice folks. They worked hard for decades under communist rule for probably a few dollars a month. Needless to say, the defunct communist authorities did not leave them a pension. They sell small bunches for around $1-2. It a nice way to brighten anyone’s day and it helps them. The best thing is that the flowers are also fresh and beautiful. Before you go looking for expensive flowers in the main square, have a look around some of the small parks and buy much cheaper from these nice folks.
