the stoval mill covered bridge is located about 10 miles east of helen on GA 17. the original covered bridge was built by fred dover in the late 1800's. the original bridge was washed away in the 1890's and will pardue replaced the bridge in 1895. the stoval mill covered bridge was featured in the 1951 movie " i'd climb the highest mountain". the stoval mill covered bridge is one of only a few original covered bridges in the state of georgia.
