The Bund (also known as an embankment or a quay) is the most famous Attraction of Shanghai and it represents the City as a Major International Trading Port since the 18th Century and is the european style center of Trading since the Qing Dynasty Times. It is also called Zhongshan Dong Yi Lu (East Zhongshan 1st Road) and the boundaries runs along the western bank of the Huangpu River from the Waibaidu Bridge to Nanpu Bridge and winds 1500 meters in length, facing Pudong, in the eastern part of Huangpu District. There is a separate concrete pedestrian walkway lying parallel with the Zhongshan Road where you can walk and take tons of pictures and videos. The attraction of the Bund is the 26 various buildings of different architectural styles including Gothic, Baroque, Romanesque, Classicism and the Renaissance designs that once housed numerous banks and trading houses of various Countries of which they are now housing local chinese companies and are well illuminated at night.
