it is the nearest Great Wall attraction to downtown Beijing since it is located still in beijing city limits at the Changping District and is near the Ming Tombs (and is administered by the Ming Tombs administration too) . Juyongguan Great Wall is 60 kilometers from downtown, Badaling is a further 10 kilometers away, Mutianyu and Simatai, 15 to 30 kilometers away.

this section of the Great Wall is featured by the grand Juyongguan Pass. The Juyongguan Pass is situated in the middle of a long valley and has a girth of over 4,000 meters (4,374.4 yards) at the foot of the Junshu Mountains. With mountains as its east and west walls, this pass had played a strategic defense role in ancient times. it has less touristy than badaling so it is not crowded here. The Juyongguan Great Wall is a crucial pass of the Great Wall. It is made in various shapes, among which the most famous is the unique shape resembling 'l'. There are many souvenir shops and stalls here where you can find and shop and eat, but there is no cable car ride to and from the mountians, unlike in Badaling section.

entrance to the wall is 45 RMB per person of whatever age (for summer and spring and 40 RMB per person for autumn and winter) and is open from 8:30 am to 5:00 pm everyday.
