These days, the importance of getting fresh seasonal produce is always stressed not just for obvious reasons of excellent taste but for the best prices one can get. In short if you want the best value for your money, head on to the Markets every sewcond Saturday of the month at the Rouse Hill Town Centre, off Windsor Rd (this is just a five minute drive from us!) and you will be amazed at the quality of produce that abounds- green leafy vegetables, fruits in season usually freshly harvest a few minutes from the numerous farms and orchards dotting the Hawksbury region.

The markets start from 8 am to 1 pm so you have to be in early so you don't get diappointed.

PArking is very convenient with Rouse Hill Town Centre's modern parking system which shows exactly how many parking spaces left per parking lot around the area. For each block, each space overhead has a green light indicating the space is available and red light for occupied space obviously!

Aside from the fresh food, you can also grab lots of bites to eat so the choices are really endless- plus don't forget there's a great cup of coffee or tea offered by various cafes. bake shops, etc..so anything is there really! Morning tea is a breeze with Devonshire teas (scones with jam & cream & choice of English tea or brewed coffee).

Don't take my word for it, just remember the second Saturday (except for December) of each month and go!

What to buy: Fresh vegies and fruits in seasons plus heaps of preserved goods, jams, marmalades, pies, cheeses, deli, etc. We love the home made vintage cheeses and even the big buckets of honey at around $7.50 is a bargain!

So just browse and you won't be sorry! If anything, there's always the nearby supermarkets of Woolies and Coles plus numverous boutiques, stores and many specialty shops at the Centre to keep you busy.

What to pay: Be surprised- from less than a dollar for a kilo of carrots (depending on the season of course) or lemons (freshly harvested), etc.
Sometimes if you are lucky, some growers give their produce for FREE like the pumpkins from one over harvested farm!
