In the wonderful beguinage in Tongeren, you can visit the church of Saint Catherine (St.-Catharinakerk / Begijnhofkerk).
Built in 1294, this early-Gothic church has had a lot of renovations and re-builds.
It contains a rich collection of art. Especially the woodcarvings and the paintings are an eyecathcher.

Unless in group and with a guide, it can (regrettably) only be visited during the times of special exhibitions.
