the old adams county jail was built in 1891 and was in use until 1975. today the building is the adams county supervisors office. on the top floor of the jail are four iron cells and in the middle of the floor is a celling ring and a trap door. criminals convicted of capital crimes were hung here until 1936. there are many people in the area that believe that the old jail is haunted.
