"Take the L.I. RR to JFK" John F. Kennedy Tip by ddbleu

John F. Kennedy, New York City: 96 reviews and 95 photos

We took the A Train subway from JFK to Times Square and it took over an hour. Going back to JFK, we went to Penn Station and caught the Long Island RR to Jamaica Sation. It took about 20 minutes and cost less than $5 for adults, and about a dollar for my 10-year old son. The conductor told me I could have bought a "local fare" and save $2. I don't remember seeing that option on the ticket machines but even at $5, it's a bargain for a 20-minute trip. Much better than the subway. Be sure to check out the LIRR website and check into off peak fares too.
