VRBO rental Santa Fe: "Condo Sweet Condo" Top 5 Page for this destination Santa Fe Hotel Tip by goodfish

For stays longer than a couple of days, we've become huge fans of vacation rentals. More space, more really useful amenities and lower prices than for a single room were reasons enough to bypass expensive Santa Fe hotel prices for this lovely VRBO condo. $119 plus an $85 cleaning fee for 2 bedrooms, living room, full kitchen dining area, 2 bathrooms and a large, covered deck beat the $165 + 15% tax that our previous favorite motel was asking for by a mile. We didn't NEED two bedrooms but what the heck, it gave us a good spot to throw the luggage and we saved $$ making breakfasts in, reheating restaurant leftovers and not having to wash dirty hiking clothes at a laundromat.
This gorgeous condo was a pleasant mile walk from the plaza, beautifully decorated in warm, comfortable Southwest furnishings and very quiet at night - even though it overlooked a busy highway. Goodies included in-suite laundry, cable TV in master and living room, kiva fireplace, dishwasher plus other kitchen equipment, stereo, nice linens, furnished deck AND the place was spotless. And as if that wasn't enough, it was also owned by the nicest people you'd ever want to do business with.
Sure, there's no room service, pool (in this case) or concierge but who really needs that stuff when you can come "home" to space like this? My other half walked in the door and said that's it - he's so done with hotels!
Great for families, couples or singles traveling together. Do your homework on VRBO or Homeaway, look for rentals with lots of reviews and check cleaning fees, taxes (some include them and some don't), location and extras that may be important to you such as elevators and internet service. And don't everyone reserve this place at once - we'll be cranky if our favorite digs are booked next time we're in town!
Unique Qualities: Tons more space for lots less $$. Clean, quiet and all the conveniences of home. Vacation rentals range from studio apartments to very large houses so prices vary. This condo ran about $133 (including cleaning fee) per night.
