Algeciras Bay or Bay of Gibraltar is at the southern tip of the Iberian Peninsula and flows into the Mediterranean Sea and the Strait of Gibraltar. Over the last 3,000 years, the bay which is around 10kms long has used by merchant ships trading in this area. The width between the shores of Gibraltar and Spain is around 8kms.
