Cassava: "Fresh, homemade and in lovely garden setting" Cassava Grill Tip by sojournine

Cassava Grill, San JosÚ: 1 reviews and 0 photos

This restaurant is new on the scene and sits in Escazu near its centre square. An older house with lots of ambiance and only location in Escazu where outdoor eating overlooks tranquil garden. It serves a mixture of local food and international cusine, fresh made breads and jams and it is lovely while you eat if you are outside on the verqandah you can hear the river.
All the food is home made and fresh and I had Dutch pancakes which I had to try since I am from Holland - they were great! Turns out one of the partners has Dutch parentage.... Then I tried the fish cakes - they were better than I expected and came with a sauce to die for and my husband had the pasta which was also super delicious.
It was different and the food certainly great value considering it's freshness and quality.
I heard that the owners are Italian and British/Dutch - maybe that explains the eclectic menu choices...
