"Long Market - Dlugi Targ." Gdansk Things to Do Tip by Askla

Gdansk Things to Do: 537 reviews and 1,498 photos

The Long Market, Dlugi Targ, once was the main city market and the area where the wealthier citizens lived. It was also here you were to find the execution place in olden times.
Along the market there are many beautiful buildings, some of them dating from medieval times while most of them not being more than a couple of decades old. After World War II there wasn't much left to see but an enormous restoration and conservation work has been performed so nowadays nearly nobody can tell which house is old and which one is new.
Among the interesting houses along the market are: Dwór Artusa (Artus Court), Uphagen House, the Lion Court, Ferber's House, the Golden House and the Green Gate.
