"a week in israel" Israel Things to Do Tip by dutchwindmill

Israel Things to Do: 781 reviews and 1,392 photos

Jerusalem is no doubt the most important destination for almost any traveller to Israel. Whether youŽd ŽneedŽ three days is already a matter of much more personal interest. A full dayŽs wandering around will give you a pretty nice overview, particularly of the Old City. If you also wish to visit places like Yad Vashem or the Knesset you might want to stay longer.
Tel Aviv is goodfun, with countless excellent restaurants, bars, nightclubs, shops, cinemas etc etc. and the beach of course. Go visit Jaffa, Neve Tzedek and the streets off Rothschild Boulevard.
Go see the Negev and the Judaean Desert-Dead Sea Valley (Masada!), but avoid dreadful Eilat.
Galilee is nice, but already quite developed, so donŽt expect a world of wild natural sights. Hula is a nice wildlife reserve with lots of birds, turtles and big fish.
Many of the Christian IŽd give a miss if youŽre not religious: there is often really not much to see, so if you donŽt get excited by the idea that possibly the Lord multiplied bread and fishes, donŽt bother.
