"What to bring" Top 5 Page for this destination Lava Beds National Monument Packing List Tip by JLBG
Lava Beds National Monument What to Pack: 2 reviews and 1 photos
Clothing/Shoes/Weather Gear: Good walking shoes as the floor of the caves can be rough.
Warm clothes as the temperature in the cave is low (especially in the ice caves!).
Miscellaneous: Each visitor should carry an electric lamp as the caves are not lit (except for one or two of them). If you have not brought your own lamps, lamps are available at the visitor center.
If you are careful, you do not need a helmet but if you are inattentive, you might have better to wear one : some of the tubes have a low ceiling and lava is stronger than you skull!
