"Crossing Muller Station" Molesworth Things to Do Tip by Kakapo2

Molesworth Things to Do: 26 reviews and 26 photos

To Acheron Road crosses a small section of Muller Station which ? opposite to Molesworth ? mainly farms merino sheep, but also some cattle and deer.
The stock limit is 16,000 sheep and 1500 cattle.

The station is partly on freehold and on leasehold which expires in 2026.

The Awatere Fault runs through the property which rises from 760 to 2100 metres. It comprises 2100 hectares of valley floor and lower slopes which are, like on Molesworth, oversown and topdressed for grazing. 1800 hectares are fescue tussock grassland, and 24,200 hectares are high country tussock and bare rock.

The Saxton River forms the western and the Castle River the eastern boundary of the lease. The lease is drained by numerous rivers, including the Acheron, Awatere, etc.

Before crossing the Acheron and the Saxton Rivers (as you travel north), you cross the bridge over the Severn River.
