"Bridges on river Onyar" River Onyar Tip by mindcrime
River Onyar, Girona: 8 reviews and 15 photos
The bridges over river Onyar are a nice way to walk from one side (Barri Vell) to the other (Eixample) and gives you great opportunities for photos of the colourful houses. There are 11 bridges in Girona some of them for pedestrians. We started from Pont de Pedra (bridge of stone pic 1) which is located near Placa Catalunya (pic 2) because I knew the Tourist Info was there.
The sun was bright early in the morning but the colors of the houses reflected on the waters. Later we walk on Pont de Sant Feliu and Pont d’en Gomez (pic 3) which had always someone on it (it leads to Plaza Independencia). One weird iron red bridge attracted us, it is the Pont de Peixeteres Velles (pics 4-5) that was designed by Gustave Eiffel (1832-1923) in 1876. Yes, he is the one that built the tower in Paris.
