Seafood is of course the specialty of the town here being right beside the Atlantic coast and with fishing a major livelihood of the men who live here.
We have always had excellent seafood when staying here - the calamari would have to be the best Ive had anywhere - ordering a plate of mixed seafood with fish and calamari is an excellent choice.
Along the wall that is furthest away from the ramparts that defend the medina from the sea is a line of open air eateries that are under large umbrellas - good for both the night and for the full sun of the day - and eating at the 'restaurant' Ive eaten on previous visits this place proves to still be an excellent choice.
But the several companies that line this wall have menu boards displayed along with their prices to peruse first. But you generally cant really go wrong whichever place you choose.
If you want to order lobster/langoustine or a particular type of large fish for your meal you might have to arrive early or prebook earlier in the day.
The restaurants that are out away from here, along the road that faces the sea, are well regarded too but generally higher in price.
Favorite Dish: The calamari!
But everything we had was excellent!
Including the bread and olives that are served as standard accompaniments - particularly if youre peckish while you are waiting!
And the price was good! 135 dirham for 2 provided: one excellent large coffee, an excellent bowl of harira, a large Salade Nicoise for 2, a large plate of mixed fried and grilled fish and calamari, along with some chips/frites, and a kefta tagine that was also enough for 2.
Thats heaps of food for a good price and it was all nicely delicious!
Tap water is available for free if you want it - but I dont recommend it for non-moroccans - and generally buying a 1 litre bottle of water from restaurants is 10 dirham (usually 5 dirham in normal shops).
Comparison: about average
