This temple is dedicated to two gods, the crocodile god Sobek and the god known as Horus the elder not to be confused with the falcon god Horus. It was built during the Ptolemaic dynasty and some additions were added by the Romans. There is a scene on the innerface of the rear walls depicting what is believed to be surgical instruments thus some archaelogists today believe that it doubled as a hospital. There is also a jacuzzi believed to have belonged to the well known Cleopatra. It is a beautiful temple even though it is not as preserved as Karnak or Philae or Luxor. Entrance fee is 15LE per person.
Address: Kom Ombo
Directions: The temple is located right near the Nile about a two minute walk from the pier.
