Luxor Temple though not as big as Karnak is still interesting nonetheless. It is about a 10 minute drive from Karnak closer to the pier. You'll find a mosque built into one side of the temple and you'll see christian paintings on the walls. Christians came here and hid out in this temple from Roman persecution and they made their mark here. There is also a cartouche of Alexander the Great and a carving of him and the god Amon-Min, the god of fertility. It shows him receiving sperm from the god and they say that that shows Alexander the Great as being homosexual. There are two giant statues of a seated RamsesII. The columns in this temple are also very different than the ones in Karnak, they are shaped like papyrus branches. If your going to visit Karnak Temple then you should also visit Luxor Temple.

Address: 10 min from Karnak Temple closer to the pier
