"Take a Walk" Hungary Things to Do Tip by DueSer

Both sides of Budapest are terrific for walking. Buda is hillier and older but Pest has some terrific streets too. So, while the subways here are great, don't take the underground everywhere. Do some walking, especially if you enjoy unique architectural styles because Budapest has a lot of it.
One good area would be between Varosliget and Nyugati (the city park and one of the main train stations). The area between Dozsa Gyorgy ut. and Terez korut has some fairly quiet streets with many apartment buildings and a few small shops. These buildings are obviously old and very stylish with unique doorways and other architectural touches.
Another nice area is between the Great Market and Andrassy. Andrassy itself is a wide, gorgeous boulevard perfect for strolling but also, the streets around there have some delightfully distinctive styles.
So, if the weather is good and you feel up to it - maybe needing to walk off that terrific Hungarian meal you just ate - skip the subway and explore.
