Due to my late arrival in Houston, I decided to stay in a hotel near the airport. I chose the Doubletree and I was not disappointed in my choice. After getting my rental car, I just drove 3 minutes and I was at the hotel.

Check in was very easy and they greet you with a very warm fresh Doubletree chocolate chip cookie --- talk about getting on my good side, hehehe (I love choco).

My room was big with a flat screen TV and a comfy looking king bed with several big pillows. The bathroom was designed with granite and the massaging shower head is always a plus. The toilet did not flush as powerful as I thought it should, but then Houston might be a low water pressure area.

I ordered for dinner through room service and the food from the Oakley's Restaurant at the ground level was ready in 15 minutes -- had the chicken crepe and chocolate cake. As with most room services, you are charge with an 18% tax + $2 service and so, you almost double the prices sometimes. But when you are tired from a trip and lazy to go out, 24 hour room service is a plus.

I did note though that the hotel is right beside a Taco place and a fastfood joint (Jack in the Box?)...so lots of choices outside. Sheraton Hotel is also across the street.

Wireless connection was easy. There is a 24 hour fitness center and the pool was huge outside with lots of poolside chairs and tables.

Overall, a very comfy stay which I noticed was also preferred by the pilots and stewardesses as they were all there at the lobby at 7 AM.

Overall, a great stay and would stay again if I needed a place near the airport. However, there are cheaper accomodations near the airport and I have stayed in one of them and they are convenient as well...depends on your budget.

Unique Qualities: warm chocolate chip cookie on your arrival!
