The Bombay Club & Martini Bistro: "Music in a Classic Setting" New Orleans Nightlife Tip by jakelorenzo

New Orleans Nightlife: 416 reviews and 404 photos

The Bombay Club is a blast from the past. It's elegant and comfortable in that old-time smoky bar/Humphrey Bogart movie style, except now there is no smoke. Legendary for it's gigantic martinis which have been getting the locals loaded for years, the Bombay Club turns out to be a wonderful venue for hearing great local music. In addition to the regular tables and chairs for dinners, the club has tables with leather club chairs and even a section with leather sofas. We went to hear the great Luther Kent who performed three sets. There is no cover charge, they simply raise the price of their cocktails a dollar for the show. By New Orleans standards, it is surely one of the most comfortable places to hear music in the entire city.
