This square is laid out just north of the Barbican. THe square was laid out in the 19th century but the Church of St. Florian which dominates the skyline of the square dates from earlier. Another notable feature in the square is the Grunwald Monument which commemorates the Battle of Grunwald.
The square is also the pick up point for Cracow City Tours to Auschwitz and the Salt Mines.

Address: Historical centre and surroundings
Directions: Walk north up Ul. Florianska and through the Florian Gate. Plac Matejki is located right behind the Barbican.
