This is touted to be one of the best in local cuisine.
They are reputed to serve the best grilled native chicken in the city so I just had to try it.
Toryano's is located in front of the Apo View Hotel and next door to D'Counter Executive Dormitory. The place is clean and the food crew neat. They have all-rice-you-can-eat promo. They have a crew who walks around the resto with a rice basket ready to top your plate as often as you want. :)

Favorite Dish: The grilled native chicken was a little tougher than the broiler but it was more flavorful. the marinade was nothing fancy so the natural flavors of the meat dominated the food. I ordered their grilled pork which was also served simply. The imbao (mangrove clam, Anodontia edentula) soup was interesting (the restaurant orders it from General Santos everyday). They also serve beers and other alcoholic drinks.

All the food served in Toryano's can be shared by two persons so the price isn't so bad... in fact it is dang reasonable. I had a hard time finishing everything I ordered since I went to dinner alone... BTW, the resto is safe for lone women travelers. Most patrons are yuppies and family units out to have a good, filling meal or maybe a couple of bottles of ice cold beer before heading home from work.
