The outside of the Blue Mosque
by jlanza29

Traveling the world one learns to respect other people cultures and religions, and seeing and entering a holy place one must show the uptmost respect and diginity. And the Blue Mosque and much as it is a tourist attraction it is still a holy place of worship. A small donation is accepted as you exist, but this mosque built sometime in the 13th century is spectular. One must remove there shoes and be quiet as there is people inside praying..... Take about 30 minutes to see the building itself.....highly recommend it.....the mosque gets it name from the blue tile on the roof.....

If you can stand in front of the mosque as the sun is setting the call to prayer sounds out, it facinating experience.

Also the park that divides the Hagia Sophia and the Blue Mosque has some great places for great photos !!!!
