"...Or Hike Kapuzinerberg" Austria Things to Do Tip by DueSer

For another view of the city, this time from a different angle, take the numerous stairs to the top of Kapuzinerberg. There's an old monastery at the top of this large hill. It's a nice building but it's the view of Salzburg and the Alps that make this climb worth the effort. It's more of a park-like setting than the Monchsberg Cliffs, so it would be the perfect place for a picnic.
Steingasse, the street to take to get to the stairs that lead to the hilltop, is a lovely old street so be sure to check that out before or after your hike.
Directions: It's the big hill on the east side of the Salzach River, so at Platzl, take Linzergasse away from the river. The first street should be Steingasse. Turn right. The stairs begin just a little ways down Steingasse on the left side of the street.
