"The Octagon House" Akron Things to Do Tip by davecallahan
Akron Things to Do: 1 reviews and 2 photos
The official name is the Rich-Twinn House (named after the last owners) and it is a nice example of the special style of homes with eight sides that were popular in western New York in the 19th century. The home is on the National Register of Historic Places
The historical society provides guided tours from 1pm until 3pm on the first and third Sundays of each month, from March through the end of October. Tour cost was $8 per adult. The tour is very informative about home styles and constructions of the 19th century period and highlights show the decor, furnishings and person touches of those days. It takes about an hour and cameras are allowed.
Address: 145 Main Street
