Lal Bagh Botanical Garden is one of the most interesting and friendliest places in Bangalore. The garden was established by Sultan Hyder Ali and his son Tipu Sultan in the 18th century and was enlarged over the years by their successors, now housing over 1.000 rare plant and tree species. The most interesting architectural feature is the Glass House that reminds of Kew Gardens in London. A rather strange addition to the garden is a flower clock with statues of the seven dwarves (modeled after the Disney fairytale movie "Snowwhite"), and of Bambi and his friend the rabbit Thumper.
