Although I am not one to lie out on the beach [because of the damage The sun causes to the skin], I do love beaches, especially walking on them. Allan has really fair skin and has had melanoma on his cheek, so we are very careful. We slather on the sun screen, wear hats, and monitor our time. Thank goodness we still go to the beach and walk, take photographs, talk to people, and truly enjoy it.
Naples certainly is the place to enjoy the beaches....there are at least 7 miles of public beaches, one mile just as beautiful as the next.
As you can see from the photographs, the sand is white and soft, with scattered shells, but not so many that they hurt your feet when you walk. There are some highrises in spots; however, most of the beaches have little or no man-made obstructions to spoil the natural environment.
Since the winters in Naples are lovely, walking on, lying on, and swimming in the water is possible year round.
One just cannot think of Naples, Florida, without thinking of the terrific beaches.
Some of the beach areas that we visited while in Naples are:
Lowdermilk Beach Park
257 Banyon Blvd
25 12th Street
And even though one beach we visited is in nearby Bonita Springs, I also consider
[Barefoot Beach Park, 2 Barefoot Beach Blvd] when I think of Naple's beaches.
Directions: Southwest Florida about as far south as you can go.
