"Adaptor plugs in Maldives" Male Island Favorite Tip by DSwede

Male Island General: 3 reviews and 6 photos

Favorite thing: Malidives uses 230V, 50Hz.

The outlets in Maldives are possibly the most varied that I have witnessed in any of my travels. The outlets vary in shape, size, 2-pin, 3-pin, etc.

Provided you do not use devices that require a grounding post, the plugs are compatible with common European 2-pin, possibly Swiss 3-pin, possibly Danish round-pin;

Some locations will also have the "old" British 3-pin outlet or the US/Japan 2-pin (type A)

It is best when going to the Maldives to bring a universal multi-adapter since it may be hard to guarantee which outlet you will find.
